AC Gas Refill Dubai, Sharjah & Ajman — Restore Full Cooling Power, Fast
Weak cooling is one of the most common AC complaints in the UAE, and low refrigerant is one of the most common causes. We check the system properly, refill to the correct pressure, and test before we leave — flat AED 200, no surprises.
- Leak check included
- Correct refrigerant
- Cooling tested
Signs You May Need a Gas Refill
Weak or warm airflow
The AC runs but the air feels weaker or warmer than it used to, even at the same thermostat setting.
Ice or frost on the unit
Frost forming on the indoor unit or refrigerant pipes is a classic sign of a low or leaking refrigerant charge.
Takes longer to cool
A room that used to cool in minutes now takes noticeably longer to reach a comfortable temperature.
Hissing or bubbling sound
An unusual hissing or bubbling noise near the indoor or outdoor unit can point to a refrigerant leak.
Rising electricity bills
Low refrigerant forces the compressor to work harder for the same cooling, raising your DEWA bill.
AC switches on and off often
Frequent short cycling can be linked to incorrect refrigerant pressure, among other causes.
Why Does Refrigerant Run Low in the First Place?
Unlike fuel in a car, refrigerant isn’t consumed during normal operation — a sealed AC system shouldn’t lose gas at all. When it does, there’s almost always a reason.
The most common causes are small leaks at pipe joints and fittings that develop over years of use, wear from Dubai’s heat and vibration, damage to outdoor unit coils from debris or pressure washing, and occasionally a fitting that wasn’t sealed correctly during a previous installation. That’s why we always check for leaks before refilling — topping up gas without finding the leak just means the same problem returns in a few months.
Our Gas Refill Process
Diagnose
We confirm low refrigerant is the actual cause before doing anything else.
Leak check
We check pipes and fittings for leaks before refilling, not after.
Refill to spec
Correct refrigerant type, charged to the manufacturer’s exact pressure.
Pressure test
We confirm the system holds pressure correctly after refilling.
Performance check
Cooling output confirmed before we consider the job done.
Is It Really Low Gas, or Something Else?
Weak cooling doesn’t always mean low refrigerant. Here’s a rough guide before you book.
Probably low refrigerant if…
- Cooling has declined gradually over weeks or months
- You’ve noticed frost or ice on the unit or pipes
- There’s a hissing sound near the unit
Might be something else if…
- The AC stopped cooling suddenly and completely — often electrical or compressor-related
- Airflow is weak but the air itself still feels cold — often a dirty filter or duct, not gas
- The AC trips the breaker — an electrical fault, not a refrigerant issue

Refrigerant Types We Work With
We use the correct, approved refrigerant for your specific system — never a substitute to save cost.
R-410A
Common in newer split and central systems across the UAE.
R-32
A more energy-efficient option used in many recent installations.
R-22 (older units)
Being phased out across the UAE. We can still service existing R-22 systems, but if yours needs frequent refills, replacement is usually more cost-effective long-term — see our AC Installation page.

AC Gas Refill — Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an AC gas refill cost?
AED 200 flat, confirmed before we start any work.
How long does a gas refill take?
Most gas refills take between 30 and 60 minutes, including the leak check and performance test.
If you find a leak, is it repaired as part of the AED 200?
The leak check is included, but repairing a confirmed leak is a separate job that we’ll quote clearly first. Refilling gas without fixing a leak only provides a temporary improvement, so we’ll always tell you if that’s the situation.
How often will my AC need a gas refill?
A properly sealed system shouldn’t need refilling often at all. If you’re needing refills every few months, that points to an ongoing leak that’s worth repairing properly rather than topping up repeatedly.
Which refrigerant do you use?
We match the refrigerant to your existing system — typically R-410A or R-32 for newer units, and R-22 for older systems where still serviceable.
My AC uses R-22 — can it still be refilled?
Yes, we can still service existing R-22 systems. R-22 is being phased out across the UAE, so if your unit needs frequent refills, replacing it with a newer R-410A or R-32 system is usually more cost-effective long-term.
Is gas refill covered under warranty if you installed my AC?
If we installed your unit and a refrigerant leak appears within the installation warranty period, that’s covered under our workmanship warranty. For units installed by another provider, the AED 200 gas refill rate applies as usual.
Do you serve Sharjah and Ajman as well as Dubai?
Yes, gas refill is available at the same flat rate across Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
